Our Des Moines Commercial printshops
Miami Online Printing Company TipsAn Online printing company offers all the same advantages, if not more, than a traditional retailer. There are certain guidelines you should consider however, when taking advantage of the services offered ..... The best way to save time and money when operating a small business is by delegating tasks to others. One of the simplest tasks a business owner can delegate includes their printing tasks. Most Commercial print shops can handle any print jobs required by a small or large business. These include not only printing services but also in many cases custom design and printing.
Tip: The human eye cannot detect the squares of color if there are 300 or more in an inch. For clear and crisp printing, images at their final size in the layout should be at 300dpi (dots per inch = squares of color in an inch) or 400dpi if the images include text.
Here are a few things to consider before placing an order with a commercial printer:
Q: Tips for AOL Users?
A: If you use America Online (AOL) for your internet connection, you should be aware that AOL can limit your activity on the web and disconnect you from the internet if you are not a current, active user. Uploading files appears to be inactivity to AOL. It is recommended that you keep your AOL email account open at the same time you are uploading your files. This can trick AOL programming into thinking you are still active on the internet, thereby preventing the possibility of getting disconnected during your file upload.
If problems occur with your AOL account you may consider establishing a Free hot-mail account to avoid this issue.
Q: What is a bleed?
A: A Bleed is when the color, copy, or image extends beyond the trim marks on a page. If you want your color, text or image to go all the way to the edge after trimming, it is recommend bleeding or extending beyond the final page size by I/8". So if your final page size is 8.5" x 11"and your color, type or image is full bleed (extending beyond each of the 4 edges), the file submitted for printing needs to be 8.75" x 11.25".)
Q: Is there anything special I need to do for a 2 color job?
A: It depends on whether or not your job is printed in four color process, or as a one or two color job. If you need print one or two colors, it is recommended using PMS (Pantone Matching System) colors, and your colors will match what is shown in the PMS books. This may or may not match what you see on your screen. If color is critical for the piece, you should think about purchasing your own PMS books.
To make sure they print the correct color keep this in mind. If they print in full color or four color process, make sure that when you set up your file, you set it up in CMYK - NOT RGB.
Decide what paper supplies your office will need daily, weekly and monthly. Key examples may include business cards, stationary, letterhead and marketing materials.
Figure out what items the print shop can help design, including brochures and custom business cards.
Order promotional printing items in bulk. That means keeping an accurate inventory of what items you have in house and readily available on a routine basis.
Consider your annual printing needs. Write them down and figure out how a commercial print shop can help you achieve your goals.
Tip: Once the customer has read your sales brochures, its time to drive home the sale. One very effective technique is to offer a special rate or discount on your product if the customer displays or mentions your sales brochures. This makes the customer feel that they are getting a special deal, and may serve to facility the initial sales contact.
Take advantage of discounts. When ordering from Discount business printers in Des Moines, Iowa you can save time and money by using custom coupons or discounts often offered new businesses or loyal customers. If you aren't aware of any, inquire about them.
